John F. Nogueira MD joined Hackensack Neurology Group in 2006, and is an Attending Physician in the Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center. He has a depth of experience with a broad range of neurological problems and is double board-certified by the American Academy of Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Nogueira graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Biology/Biochemistry where he was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society. He obtained his MD degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He then completed his internship in Internal Medicine, residency in Neurology, and Clinical Neurophysiology/EMG fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During his residency in Neurology, Dr. Nogueira was appointed to the position of Chief Resident.
Dr. Nogueira has a broad interest in evaluating and treating patients with neurological problems, including migraines, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, seizures, and various neuromuscular disorders, such as neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, myasthenia gravis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He is an expert in the performance and interpretation of nerve conduction and EMG testing due to his specialized fellowship training, extra board certification, and extensive clinical experience.
