Paul Littman, DO, is a Medical Group of NJ member. Dr. Littman was drawn to the field of urogynecology (Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery) because of the general misconception that it is “normal” for women to develop urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse as they get older. These conditions are extremely debilitating and cause many women to stop partaking in activities that they enjoy. He is also interested in helping those with fecal incontinence, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain, including both vulvodynia and interstitial cystitis.
Dr. Littman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, followed by a medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He then completed a residency in Obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. He received further training in Urogynecology and reconstructive Pelvic Surgery through the Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. After passing the first-ever board examination, he achieved board certification in 2013 in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
Over the past few years, a variety of minimally invasive treatments have been developed to help treat various pelvic floor disorders. These treatments are highly effective and can rapidly restore the quality of life of most patients. Dr. Littman receives great satisfaction from being able to help his patients enjoy the life they had previously.
“I have brought a multitude of the novel, minimally-invasive outpatient procedures to northern New Jersey, including single-incision vaginal approaches to correct both urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse,” says Dr. Littman. Additionally, he is also proficient in robotic surgery for fibroids and prolapse. Some novel treatments that he offers for incontinence include sacral neuromodulation, botox injections, and acupuncture-based treatments. Further, the doctor is well-versed in minimally invasive gynecology, emphasizing uterine fibroids and irregular menstrual cycles.
He is dedicated to listening to each of his patients to understand what is important to them and treat them effectively. “I hope you and your loved ones decide to join our “family” here at The Medical Group and trust us to take care of you,” says Dr. Littman.
Lastly, Dr. Littman has numerous publications regarding urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and has won multiple surgical and administrative awards during his career, including the NJ Monthly Top Doctors.
